Who are we?

Emocean Surf Camp is a team of board sports enthusiasts based in Seignosse, in the Landes. We aim to combine surfing with environmental awareness. We target dynamic teenagers between 12 and 17 years old.

Emocean Surf Camp differs from other camps not only by its desire to convey the passion of surfing and to improve the level of the youngsters, but also by making them aware of the environment and developing their eco-consciousness. Sharing these values allows us tocontribute to the preservation of our planet. We also promote an emotional education through outdoor activities.

Hello! My name is Cristina but you can call me Krisu.

I am originally Spanish but I’ve been living in France for a while now. I’ve been passionate about surfing and snow sports for over fifteen years. In winter, I am a ski and snowboard instructor in the beautiful town of Verbier, a Swiss ski resort. In the summer, I am lucky enough to spend all my time surfing in Seignosse, France.

I’ve asked myself many times over the last few years how I can combine my passions for teaching, snow and summer sports with my concern for the environment. How can I share my love for these amazing disciplines with others? It’s been a dream of mine to spread awareness of our natural flora and fauna through fun and play, teach others how it is crucial to bring our environment to the forefront of our actions, even when having fun and engaging in activities such as surfing.

Thus, the idea of “Emocean Surfcamp” was born. This camp is centred on the idea of bringing surfing and environmental awareness and activism together. Indeed, surfing is an activity that depends entirely on nature and the ocean, and surfers are often very conscious of the impact of their actions on the environment.

In the case of Emocean surfcamp, the aim is to promote responsible surfing that respects the environment and the local community. This can be done through concrete actions such as beach clean-ups, the use of sustainable and ecological materials for surfing equipment, and raising surfers’ awareness of environmental issues.

This is why the Emocean community is created, to help raise awareness and inspire young people to take action, avoiding an overly academic or moralistic approach. I look forward to meeting you and sharing this adventure together!
